Enriched Air (Nitrox) Specialty
Would you like to spend longer underwater? On many dives underwater time is governed by our no decompression limits. By increasing the oxygen and decreasing the nitrogen content of our breathing gas we can safely increase these limits. For example we can stay at 30 meters for twenty minutes on air.
This can be safely increased to thirty five minutes with the correct enriched air mix so prolonging our enjoyment of the dive. To enroll in an enriched air course you must be over 15 years of age, be certified as an PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and fill in and sign a medical statement.
Academic work is split between self study and a classroom lecture. you will receive a manual and video for you to study, You then attend a lecture in the classroom. You then need to complete two open water dives. The cost for the course will include a manual, video, enriched air slates, tuition, equipment, one 32% enriched air fill and certification.
The enriched air course is the only course on which you can combine open water dives with another PADI course. This means you can complete the open water dives whilst taking the Advanced, Rescue, Divemaster or another PADI specialty.
