Divemaster, more information

This is designed for people who are happy to study in their own time and complete the course at their own pace.

To complete the course you need to:

  • Read the Divemaster manual, watch the video and complete all of the knowledge reviews.
  • Attend 4 lectures (Course Overview, Dive Theory, Assisting with Students and Supervising Certified Divers).
  • Independently study for and pass exams in skills and the environment, dive equipment, the physics of diving, the physiology of diving, decompression theory and the recreational dive planner and Divemaster conducted programs.
  • Demonstrate 20 skills from the Open Water Diver Course.
  • Perform a demonstration quality rescue.
  • Pass a water skills and stamina test.
  • Pass five assessments while helping with confined water sessions from PADI courses.
  • Pass five assessments while helping with open water sessions from PADI courses.
  • Pass an assessment for guiding certified divers.
  • Conduct either a scuba review or a local area orientation.

Included in the price of the course are the Divemaster manual, Divemaster video, Divemaster slates, Divemaster emblem (given upon certification), instruction, equipment hire and independent pool time.

Encyclopaedia of Recreational Diving, Diving Knowledge Workbook, Recreational Dive Planner table and wheel version. We offer these at a discounted rate to our Divemaster candidates.

Application for PADI membership. This is payable directly to PADI and is currently £59.34.
